Week 4 NFL Recap

Week 4 of the 2015 NFL Season is coming to an end with Monday’s matchup between winless Detroit visiting Seattle.

The Unbeatens Fall

Not this week.  There are still 6 undefeated teams with only Arizona falling this week 24-22 to St. Louis in a game featuring rookie running back Todd Gurley rushing for 146 yards on 19 carries.  Cincinnati convincing at home against Kansas City behind an extremely confident and efficient Andy Dalton, 321 yards with one TD.  Carolina over Tampa Bay 34-23, Atlanta dominant over Houston 48-21 in a game they led 42-0, Green Bay 17-3 on the road against San Francisco, and Denver hanging on for a 23-20 home win against Minnesota account for the undefeated teams in action during Week 5.

Some Surprises

The Jets handling Miami in London 27-14.  So strange to see an NFL game being played at 9:30 in the morning.  When I lived out West, a start time of 6:30 am for an NFL football game seems so alien.  The New York football Giants over Buffalo 24-10 in a game the Bills were destroyed by penalties.  Cleveland so competitive on the road in San Diego, losing in heartbreaking fashion to a second try Field Goal because of an off sides penalty .. its tough to lose an NFL game with 0 seconds left on the clock.  Chicago winning at home against favored Oakland 22-20, behind Jay Cutler who played despite a hamstring injury.

Fantasy Football PPR Heroes

Devonta Freeman, Atlanta Falcons.  19 touches, 149 combined yards, and 3 more TDs giving him 6 rushing TDs the past 2 weeks.

Welcome back Le’Veon Bell 29 touches, 150 total yards, a TD, 7 receptions.  Pittsburgh will need you more than ever minus Ben Roethlisberger for at least another 3 weeks.  Losing in heart breaking fashion on Thursday Night has me receiving phone calls from Pittsburgh for kicker tryouts.

Martellus Bennett, Chicago Bears 11 catches, 83 yards, TD.  The kind of money you want from the TE position.

Jeremy Maclin, Kansas City Chiefs.  11 Catches, 148 yards.

Cairo Santos, Kansas City Chiefs  7 Field Goals, 2 from 50 yards plus.  29 fantasy points from your kicker.  And most likely a free agent in your league.

Fantasy Football Zeroes

Julio Jones, Atlanta Falcons  4 catches, 38 yards receiving.  He’s not going to score you 40 points every week.

CJ Anderson & Jeremy Hill  Trendy late first round, early second round picks.  Anderson is being outplayed by Ronnie Hillman in Denver while Hill had 3 TDs against Kansas City, hardly a zero, it was on 9 touches.  RBBC doesn’t win fantasy championships and Giovanni Bernard carried 13 times.
